Maya Yael Frai
Portrait of Maya Yael Frai

Maya is a consumer product builder drawn to the problems others may have written off. She looks for products with real emotional resonance, and for the new categories that open up the moment technology becomes good enough to serve them: commerce, creativity, and wellness.

Her appreciation for craft began early, exploring the world of fine jewelry with her parents. It is where she fell in love with designing products and experiences, and where she formed the conviction that has guided her since: everything starts and ends with the customer, and every client deserves the utmost care.

She has built from nearly every seat: scaling products inside large technology companies, leading 0-to-1 development as an Entrepreneur in Residence, and backing founders as an investor at Greylock Partners and Google Ventures. She has worked with seed and growth-stage startups, teams of fewer than ten, and global conglomerates like Kering.

Alongside her work, she has advanced causes close to her: as a founding advisor to re—inc, the women's sports media company founded in 2019 by members of the USWNT to push gender equity forward, and as founder and managing editor of Let's Hear It, an award-winning publication she started in 2019 in the wake of #MeToo.

She writes editorial work and poetry. Her first collection, Beautifully Confusing, was published in July 2025, and her second, Lessons in Attention, arrives December 3, 2026.

Born and raised in Miami to a Brazilian mother and Israeli father, she studied Computer Science at Cornell and lives in San Francisco.
